Does anyone else get this after a night on the booze? The other night it was so bad it woke me up and im concerned its a bad thing. Is it my bodys way of telling me that ive had waaay too much vodka? Ive spoken to some of my friends and some have said that this happens to them but that doesnt make it right surely! Any help from the boozers out there might make me feel less worried.

If you're mixing the vodka with Red Bull - there's your problem. Bang full of caffeine.
I get that- and i dont drink red bull. its wit whatever alcoholic drink i have- i also wake up thinking im still out and evryone is watching me fall asleep- its horrible so i can never sleep after drinking.
Something like this happens to me; sometimes it feels like a bird's wing fluttering in my chest, and mine is indegestion so ( if I remember ) I take a fast acting indegestion/heartburn tablet before I go to bed.

Yes, it happens to me, and either it's been getting more noticable recently, or else I'm becoming more aware of it.  Sometimes I worry about it too.

I don't drink spirits, only beer and wine, so it can't specifically be vodka.

yes i get that aswell and i drink whiskey...my heart does go off on a meter of its its own, quite painfree but can be alarming. must be something to do with how your body processes alcohol

I just tend to drink vodka and coke, sometimes having shots and or the odd glass of white wine. Last weekend i was just on vodka cokes and it happened. If it makes any difference, its not really my chest thumping which wakes me, its the pulse in my neck..  Anyway, going by what you are all saying i dont really need to worry?

This is happening because your body is dehydrated. Drink a pint of water before going to bed, and this should help.I also agree that Red Bull will make you feel jumpy because of the caffine.  Some pain killers such as Anadine also contain caffine so it is not a good idea to take them prior to sleeping.
