My heart is racing

I don't quite know why, but my heart is racing and I feel anxious.

I went go meet friend for breakfast but she didn't show. I felt disappointed and annoyed and down about it.

I've otherwise had a very busy day shopping, cooking and executing household chores.

First ate at about 3pm - small portion of sushi - which was the first point of the day where it occurred to me that I was hungry.

Had a battle this afternoon getting Ventolin Evohaler OTC but eventually won. Salbutamol initially gave me the shakes, but that wore off.

Tonight I struggled to eat and have felt very emotional.

Right now I have zero stress in my life and yet, tonight, I have felt so down, lost, and my heart is racing.

Any ideas why?

Nb...TOTM any day now.

It's butterflies, something really good is about to happen. Be prepared. Well that's what I always told myself xx
Low blood sugar maybe together with TOTM.. A small portion of sushi all day is not good NoM. You take care xxx

What makes you say that, Sibo? x
A premonition NoM, good things ahead xxx
Question Author
Mazie, highly unlikely since symptom came on right after eating an, albeit small, evening meal.
agree with sibs.....though the time may have something to do with the downer.

but you need to eat something as well - and maybe a nice glass of wine, a Ch Lanessan 2000 here...fancy a glass?

honestly, you women can give us men anxiety too!

You're not the first person to say that, Sibo. xx
But you haven't eaten much all day NoM....
come to my place NM - we don't know each other but I'm sure we could enjoy the odd glass of wine together - guaranteed to slow the heart rate down!
I get like that sometimes NoM, no rhyme or reason for it, it usually accompanies an overwhelming sense of doom. Have a nice bubble bath, get in bed, read a bit and get a god nights sleep. :)
Doh, good, not god!
Rocky is right, NoM. I know you don't sleep very well, so a bath and a glass of wine sounds about right.
Have you got a good book or magazine, or a DVD that might distract you? Even some music?
The dark days don't help.
Hope you have returned to your usual upbeat self in the morning.
Is your heart actually racing...or does it just feel that way? I get that quite often-always have. It's as if I am on tenterhooks -waiting for *something*-anything-to happen.
I often find a brisk walk helps-it relieves pent up tension.
no disrespect, but could the anxiety symptoms be attributed to your recent ' heartbreak'?
NoM got over that a long time ago!
Anne - really!!
If your heart is racing and you're feeling like you're having a panic attack this may sound daft but sit down in a chair, take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth and wiggle your feet in a clockwise motion.

Ann, are you referring to the loss of my much-missed nan or my disgusting, filthy animal of an ex who, when I last had contact with him, threatened to break my jaw?

Yes I still grieve for my nan and I had a little cry over her yesterday but as for the other, I've had a very lucky escape.

I was disappointed over my friend not turning up but we spoke in the afternoon and that's all sorted. Besides, she's pregnant so I'll let her off.

I had a full-on anxiety attack last night and my heart felt like it was pumping out of my chest and there's not one specific thing to which I can attribute it.
i don't know about things like this NoM but can only suggest that you have a warm drink, maybe something that is slightly sweet also give yourself set times when you eat something, no matter how small. to be neglecting yourself a bit. don't want to seem nagging - just caring really.
NoM
I hope you're feeling better this morning.
I nearly had a heart attack when I saw your reply to Anne, wondering what I had done wrong, and then realised it was another poster.
Big hugxx
