It was a remarkably lucky outcome for the cat .... how many folk have cameras pointing at their rubbish bins? And when this vile woman did the deed, do you believe she didn't think the cat would come to any harm?

I agree that this particular incident has been blown out of proportion. However, there's a disgusting amount of animal cruelty happening every day and I base my opinion on the many cases I have witnessed in my time as a rescuer.

I don't think it was blown out of proportion by the gutter press. Surely the cat's owners would have notified the tv companies in order to show the video footage. It illustrates the odd behaviour of seemingly sensible looking people and highlights the dreadful things people do.
It does make me annoyed that if you run a dog over you have to report it but not a cat.
suitable environment ... it was dry wasn't it?
I didn't know the cat had been found before the CCTV footage had been watched. It's still horrible that the poor thing had been in the bin for fifteen hours though (if that's the truth of course ... the papers can be a bit lax with the facts).

Having said that, I've seen much worse, unfortunately. It does make you wonder what goes on in the minds of folk who will do this to defenceless creatures.
I seem to remember the cat owner remarking how quickly he managed to upload the footage onto the net. Would have thought he had other priorities to be concerned about.

No bad thing (IMO) Noth, if it makes people think twice before inflicting needless cruelty.

I'm away to bed ... got an early start in the morning. Sleep well buddy. Night all. x
