I have wanted to join the police force and have finally applied. I recieved a letter last week (after waiting for 3 months) informing me that I have passedd the 'papersift' stage and I am to attend an assessment day in July. Is there anyone that knows what this will involve? I understand there will be a fitness test and several other such as maths, english - but is an all day event....

Hiya... the assessment consists of about 5 Role Plays. stand at a desk, read a memo, then enter a room and take the role on as an officer... Then there's the Maths and English and an interview to WHY ? What have you done? what will make you a good officer ? Hope this helps but it is a very interesting day and be very confident regards to Race, Sex, Religion etc. Medical and fitness tests follows later on..... It's taken me now upto 6 months... GOOD LUCK
