however you may have a case if you can say you were not able to distinguish the camera.
I was done by a speed gun on the A1 - copper on a bridge but this is different?? so possibly the rules on mobile rather than static may be different.

Hopefully I don't need a case as i passed it at the weekend and so am hoping nothing drops through the letterbox from the DVLA .... didn't see anything on the van as it was parked at an angle with the rear pointing at the oncoming traffic. Think I may have been about 53/54 in a 50mph zone but do the usual thing where you follow the speed of the flow of the traffic. No excuse I know as it's my responsibility ...

Not all cameras have to be yellow and signposted. Stricter rules on camera visibility in "netting off" or Safety Camera Partnership Schemes were applied from June 2002. The high visibility yellow colouring of Safety Cameras makes the Partnership eligible to reclaim operational expenses but exemptions can be made where it is deemed that yellow colouring is not suitable for some site locations.
Non-Safety Camera Partnership Scheme cameras need no indication whatsoever.

Police forces (and individual police officers) are not obliged to work strictly within ACPO guidelines in regard of deciding when to issue a 'ticket', but most do. See the table under 'The Guidance' here:

All police officers are expected to comply with ACPO's operating procedures with regard to speed cameras:
