Dris....Could be a nice little earner.....or pay for itself. Where is it?
Its in the Murcia region -we live in a little rural village with the main town 3km away-Los Alcazeres which is on the Mar Menor-idyllic :)
Couldnt pass up the opportunity for renting it out long term -most of the owners have except the properties bought by a family syndicate where theres always someone out.
I agree Nosha -the building work just ground to a halt-think they went a bit daft to start with so only have themselves to blame. We knew this was coming months and months ago so im surprised that others are if you know what I mean.
Two main reasons for emigrating to Spain:
1) To retire
2) To work.
I will take the second one first..DON´T. It can work well for you, but even before the recession, it was difficult, but now even more so.

Now is the time to retire to Spain. The Spanish economy is in bad shape and as mentioned in a previous post above, house prices have been halved.
The € is standing up at the moment but in all likelihood it will drop through the bottom, which is good news for expats, whose pensions are paid in pounds. So with the €on the floor and house prices slashed, the person who is looking for retirement in Spain is sitting pretty.
The Health Service is excellent.
Dris, I was there last year on hols...
I remember that Geordie :)

Sqad -that was our intention to bail out to Spain but-we'd be daft to do it at the moment giving up good incomes etc.

I agree -now is the time to retire to Spain if that was your intention -cracking houses for half the price they were 5yrs ago.Still a great standard of living.

We likely have lost money on our property but we had the traditional Spanish will made out so it belongs to the children and we can live there while we're alive. Not a dodge -its fairly common.
aye the doctor who was going to hospitalize me for????
