social and self-centred - I am finding this crossword more and more strange each week. Even when I have the answers I can't justify the clues!

Snookered started another thread to give clues Gen2.
1a/c "Do this", spies laugh 6 letters 1down Diesel fuel,yes; 7 no (hyphenated) 11 letters in total
I cab see Do this to be So, CIA - spies and L for laugh making SOCIAL.
DieSELFuel - is self "centred" in the word, but dont get the yes 7 no bit.

7 was considerate - which you are obviously not if you're self centred

I've noticed loads of new people starting lots of new threads instead of adding to the exiting one. Quite frustrating!

At a guess I might suggest that the '7' is a cross-reference to the answer to clue 7.
Maybe the answer to clue 7 has SELF round the outside?
Then YES would confirm that Diesel Fuel IS self-centred and answer 7 is NOT self-centred?
