my dad gave me his propery nearly 2 years ago and has now sadly died. can my siblings take a share of it. it was one legally?

did he pass it onto you legally or just let you have it? If the first, and the property is in your name, no they cant. If the second, and legally it was his, if he didn't leavr a will then yes they can

Hmm. You're going to have to seek proper legal advice, I'm afraid. At least there will be no IHT payable to further complicate the matter

i am seeking professional advise and i looks like i will have to have a solicitor, my brother will have his solicitor and then we need a seperate solicitor to administer the estate once my brother and i have thrashed it out. so 3 solicitors on the case. GREAT.thats going to be a lengthy expensive thing
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that is what often happens when families can't agree over the terms of a will.

thats as maybe but a will is a legal document and surely that stands.

hey guys, been to litigaton solicitor and the will cant be changed as it was made 19 years ago and the property is legally mine as given to me by my father done by solicitor so i am very happy. thanks for all the support
