I wonder if it is a case of more husbands playing away from home when their wife is less keen on relations. That'd put the figures up.
Same pathology but he'll probably claim that this is 'The Adulterers' version.............
I hope he doesn't see the 'Michael Barrimore' thread.
Same as others said.
There are several things which need to happen in Africa if the AIDS epidemic is to be tackled.

1.The Catholic Church needs to reverse its policy on condoms. This reversal in policy needs to be widely promoted using the Vatican's vast resources. The Catholic Church's influence in Africa cannot be understated.

2.The Islamic faith need to promote the same message (ie. condoms save lives).

3. Witch doctors and other such mumbo-jumbo advocates need to be exposed for what they are – outright liars or uneducated fools. In South Africa, particularly high ranking politicians still pedal the lie that AIDS doesn't actually kill people (and some claim it doesn't even exist) – they claim it's the retro-viral drugs that purport to prevent the disease that are actually causing deaths. Such people are wilfully ignorant, evil and self-destructive.

Education is the key to everything. Education in the sciences – biology, chemistry, physics.

A person without an understanding of all of these basic sciences is a potential threat not only to himself, but if he attains power, to others also.
Africa - Tribalism - Dead end - in my humble opinion that is.
Does anyone think AIDS is an evolutionary necessity?
No, flobadob. Evolution has no aims, intentions or necessities. It just happens.
Flobadob, //Does anyone think AIDS is an evolutionary necessity?//

Why would anyone think that?
No Flob, im with Chakka on this one!
I just meant as in nature developing it as a means of controlling population.
I understand what you are saying Flob but like Chakka says: "Evolution has no aims, intentions or necessities"
Flobadob, I don't think so. If we think that we might as well say that natural disasters and famine are nature's way of controlling the population.
perhaps aids itself is experiencing its own evolution. but as chakka says really.
It's a debate for a different thread I suppose but I think my notion has some merits. Naomi is this where you got your avatar? http://www.crystalscomments.com/view/4306
Flobadob, I'm not sure where my avatar came from. It was given to me by a fellow ABer. Well, he showed it to me - and I thought it was very appropriate, so I asked if he minded if I pinched it. Fortunately, he didn't. :o)
