How do you clean a silk tie without taking it to a dry cleaner?

i suppose it all depends on exactly what has stained it but i have used a product that goes in the tumble dryer and works like a dry cleaners (can't remember the name now...Doh!)....but i'm sure you'll be able to find it or similar in any supermarket.
Hi! I know the sort of thing sft42 is referring to. There's a couple on the market, but the one I remember is called Persil Revive - a sheet that you use to dab on the stain, and then bung the sheet and the item of clothing in the tumble dryer.

Thanks sft and flirty, but the ties aren't stained, just grubby! But I suppose that I can use this stuff just the same! Cheers.
I have a few silk ties and have put them in the washing machine in a normal wash. They come out fine! Dry cleaning is b@ll@cks!

Don't be scared of silk, it washes up brilliantly. Give it a warm press and it will be perfect.
