Actor..born in 1927,died 1978...born inIreland I think...Played the tank commander in 'Battle of the Bulge'..and more notably 'Quint' in 'Jaws'...sad loss.

A fine hard-drinking, hard-living actor. They don't make them like that any more.

I remember him as Dan Tempest - The Buccaneer!  'Sigh'....
