Firstly.... I would like to ask whether there are any of us out there who believe in ghosts and the paranormal?

Secondly......what experiences have you had of this?

Thirdly..........having an experience with a 'ghost' , does this not porve the existence of some sort of afterlife? being trapped in another realm etc etc

I didn't say that all ghosts appear as old people, I said if ghost can invent clothing for themselves why would they appear as an old person?
In such an instance if I came back as a ghost it would be aged 30, jet black hair, 12.5 stone and solid muscle, not aged 70 (God willing) and decrepit.
I have answered your question.
Ev,
To clarify my hypothesis I wasn't suggesting a ghost chooses how they look. My favourite theory is that if they do exist they are more likely a recording or image of sorts. My suggestion was they would appear as they or others pictured themselves so presumably how they were when they died. If you took a picture of someone just before they died it would look like they did then not how they'd like to look.

BTW, how long have you and Naomi been married, you two really sound like an old married couple. Right off down the bunker while the flak flies.
LOL, i'd try and explain it Rev, but it'd only cause more rows.
Good one, ;-))
i was 14 when i saw a monk and he smiled at me...............he was a ghost and followed me everywhere even school, no one believed me at first then they noticed things happenning at the house i lived in like someone having a shower, and no water in the bath and everyone sleeping at the time, and someone was running down the stairs at a certain time at night and slamming the front door shut.....thats when they realised i was right.he never actually scared me, i found it facinating that i saw a ghost, then i moved away and was given holy charm etc and it didnt come back, he also played my stereo really loud on the one song
i believe ghosts exist and they are people sent to hell and not yet figured out where they are meant to be...thats my craxy theory anway
I find it funny because your both articulate and put rational arguments across and then suddenly descend into the *** sniping. I know you get it all the time in CB but it's not funny there because it's not so out of context.
You've lost me completely with this old person thing, Everton. And what was your answer to my question? I can't see it.

Rev, I've often wondered how some us would get along on 'Wife Swap'. :o)
Would I get you or Ev?
Hah ha, there is one big difference to between me and Naomi (grab a tin hat), you can believe what you like, I don't care, it's all the same meat to me just with different gravy, if you believe in Rama then that's great tell me about it over a cup of tea, to my mind you only need to prove something (at least in matters of philosophy etc) to your own satisfaction.
If you actually look at the answers we've given, we both agree that ghosts exist (but not for the first time) we are actually disagreeing about what we're agreeing with.
I mightn't be on as much in the next few weeks, I'm away to Portugal in February and then I'm taking a position (if elected) as a union steward so I'll have my hands full.
I'm not going to answer that with or without a tin hat. By the way what was your answer to the question and furthermore... what was the question.

Logging off now, I'll find out tomorrow, or not.
You asked me a theological question, I'm not a theologian.
If you want to ask me about the Crimean war, the 2nd Anglo Boer war etc, I may be able to give you direct answers, my thoughts on religion are based entirely on T.V documentaries (provided they don't clash with Top Gear or M.O.T.D) and my day to day life.
I have been invited in the past to read various tomes on the subject, but, as I said then, I'd sooner stick pins in my eyes.
My greater interests lie in the here and now, the then and there and the how and why, history's my passion.
Rev, which one would you prefer? Oops ...I'll get my coat. :o)

Yes, that is the difference between Everton and me. He believes what he chooses to believe regardless of the evidence, or lack of it, presented. I don't.

Everton, The 'fact' that Jesus saw a ghost is clearly recorded in the Bible. You don't need to be a theologian to tell me whether or not you believe that. A simple yes or no would do.

Gosh Everton, I'm going away soon too. We could really set tongues wagging!
Naomi that's not quite accurate, I believe what I see and what I've thought about through study.
I believe others are entitled to do the same and reach a different conclusion.
Vive la difference!
Your evidence for ghosts, U.F.Os and aliens creating life on earth is just as questionable, dubious and outrageous as mine or anyone elses ideas.
The day people accept that truth is the day everyone stops squabbling.
Everton, I don't claim to have evidence for any of those things, but isn't it a fact that you believe truth is what you decide it is?
We all decide for ourselves what the truth is.
And that's exactly what I said. You believe what you choose to believe, regardless of the evidence or lack of it. I don't.
I refer you to my answer at 1341.
I read it before I answered you the last time.
Yawn, so do you belive that aliens made life on earth, and that hosts exist and are perfectly natural?
Going round in circles here Naomi, I know you're a last word junky, so I'll give you the last answer. ;-))
Thank you Everton, but I get the sneaking suspicion you wouldn't allow me the last word if you had a rational response to offer. ;o)
