Firstly.... I would like to ask whether there are any of us out there who believe in ghosts and the paranormal?

Secondly......what experiences have you had of this?

Thirdly..........having an experience with a 'ghost' , does this not porve the existence of some sort of afterlife? being trapped in another realm etc etc

Im sure that on at least one occasion a "ghost" has been seen on most haunted, but never caught on camera. (unless you count the figure caught on cam outside a building who no-one could explain) One was also "seen" by 2 of the women at once. I think it was a soldier marching past them in the military hospital.

I still think that even if ghosts were caught on camera, those that dont believe would claim the pictures were tampered with etc. You make make someone believe what they dont want to unless they experience it for themsleves when its something like the paranormal.
Whose cornered?
Everton on the telly and work in the morning, aiya!
Look, I'll say it again, if you say you saw a ghost, that's fine by me, I believe in ghosts, but, despite everything you have failed to explain how ghost can be a natural thing but appear in an unnatural state (I.E dressed), what I am asking you to do is to use the logic, the objective reasoning, the rational mind you possess to re-examine the facts of your event, and to draw a conclusion.
All I want you to do is employ the same standards you implore others to do, it can't be that hard, can it?
Maybe it was a ghost, maybe ghosts can be seen and be seen dressed, maybe a ghost is not ordinary but extraordinary, maybe a ghost is not normal but paranormal and most certainly (if clothed) it's not natural but supernatural...
How can anyone possibly know what's 'natural' or 'unnatural' if we don't know what we're dealing with and have no concrete evidence to support that which we are assessing? But apparently you know that if a ghost is clothed then it must be supernatural. And that's logical? I don't think so, Everton.

Why are you avoiding my question? Do you believe Jesus saw a ghost? Third time I've asked.
I've no idea, it's just rhubarb, for the umpteenth time, if you say you saw a ghost, then you saw a ghost, that's fine by me.
How can an inanimate object exist in your natural other wordly existence, to clothe a ghost is a very supernatural thing, is it not?
I thought you had an open mind, lol..
Everton, I do have an open mind which is why I am happy to admit I don't know. However, you seem very sure, so why don't you educate us?
You don't get it do you, what I'm asking you to do is offer your experience the same level of scrutiny that you demand of others.
If a ghost is natural, where do the clothes come from, some inter realm supermarket?
Are you asking me to prove you did not see a ghost?
It's your ghost, it's your theory, it doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
Everton,

A possible answer to your "naked spirits" question. I would say that if a spirit/soul or whatever you choose to call it exists then it would be in it's base state a form of invisible energy. If it chose to manifest or was caused to manifest it would take on a visible form which would be a reflection of eithrt it or the viewers perception.

It would therefore quite possibly appear as a clothed figure but the clothes aren't real inanimate objects they are just part of an image.

This isn't mean't to be an argument in favour of spirits existence but a hypothetical answer to your question.
Everton, I haven't asked you to prove anything, although I have asked you (four times now) if you believe Jesus saw a ghost, but a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer is yet to be forthcoming. I get the impression that the question is just a little too difficult for you to commit a positive answer to. If you say 'Yes', then contrary to your previous statement you are admitting that ghosts can be seen. If you say 'No' you are denying the veracity of the bible. Mmmm.... awkward position you've put yourself in there.

I don't claim to know how or why the ghost appeared to be clothed. You, on the other hand, have stated quite categorically that since ghosts appear clothed, then they must be supernatural, so the onus is very clearly upon you to substantiate your claim. I think you're tying yourself up in knots again, Everton.
I'm not a theologian Naomi, I'm not even particuarly religious (never talk about it outside of here), I believe ghosts are supernatural.
It is you who does not.
Everton, Quite right. I don't believe anything is supernatural, but I can't prove it, so there's no point in asking me to. Although you have again taken us around the houses, initially this discussion concerned your claim that ghosts cannot be seen, and bearing in mind the thousands of reported sightings, you have offered no justification whatsoever for disputing those reports. And I see that a 'yes' or 'no' answer to my question has still not materialised. (No pun intended).

Everton,

Does it bother you that if, heaven forbid*, anything was to happen to Naomi your computer could become haunted by her. Not as a ghostly figure clothed or otherwise but a whisper in you ear or ghostly script across the screen...

Everton123, answer my question, answer my question, answer my question...

(* I couldn't think of an equivalent atheistic phrase)
Rev, very good. :o)

However, if you had been around here a bit longer, you would realise I am paraphrasing Everton who constantly posts the number of times he has asked me a question which he insists I haven't answered. You might not have grasped the point I'm making - but I've no doubt he has. ;o)
my mum works at an old victorian hospital, There has been many sightings of a young victorian nurse dressed in the old red and white nurses clothes, Some of the patients have stated that they have seen her and each patient describes the same person,
I'm far more succinct and a planer speaker than you could ever be, I answer questions as best I can (unlike some), I don't run around different hreads saying answer answe.
My proof for invisible ghosts is what I have stated, why clothed?
If a ghost can invent it's own clothes, why not reinvent it's face, why appear as an old person (weren't they young once), what to wear?
The clothes they were buried in, the clothes they died in?
I don't buy it.
Hi puzz,
I won't totallt rule it out, but need proof.
I did have one experience many years ago after the death of my lovely nanna. A cat we had stared fixed to a spot & arched it's back! Ghost? I don't know, scared me though!
When at college years ago, a few of us would play the ouija board but we stopped after one time REALLY freaked us out! We got this "spirit" who had warned one of us (who was not staying in the halls that night) not to drive home a certain road or be on the road at 12midnight! The "spirit" said he was his uncle. This was dismissed though as his uncle was still alive. Anyway we persuaded him to stay till after midnight then go. On the way home, he came across a serious accident with fatalities that had happened about midnight and when he did get home, his parents were waiting up for him to tell him his uncle had died very suddenly earlier that evening! Needless to say I have never done it since!
//I answer questions as best I can//

Well you haven't answered mine yet.

I don't know where you get the idea that all ghosts appear as old people, and your 'proof' for invisible ghosts isn't proof at all. It's just another question.

We will always be divided into those who believe in ghosts and dont. I do and I suppose, though I cant be sure, that is because I saw one. Those who didnt can never really believe as they havent seen anything. All I can say is that if you ever did then, like me, you know that ghosts, whatever they are, do make themselves seen. I would not ever presume to say to someone who did not believe that they are wrong, and hope that nobody would ever tell me that I did not what I, for certain, saw.
