Do female worshipers allowed in an mosque? As everytime I see footage of people praying in an mosque they always seem to be men.

Click here for an informative website. Basically, women are allowed in the mosque - though that does not happen in certain countries - but in an area separate from the men. That is why you do not see them.

Muslims aren't that different from some other religiions, e.g. orthodox Jewish synagogues have separate areas for women  - usually women sit in the gallery, or at weddings on the right hand side of the building if you are facing the altar.

And some very strict evangelical churches have men sitting on the separate side of the central aisle from women and children.

That just shows you what most religions think of Women!

I wondered why I wasn't very religious! LOL

isnt the separate part for women called a zenana ?
I think zenana is the women's quarters in a house - not sure if the term applies to mosques too.

Yes, muslim women are allowed in mosques and Quizmonster and ursula62 are right, there's a separate area for them to pray.  However, this also depends on the mosque itself.  If the mosque is very small and when I say small I mean only one room, then the women will stand behind the men and pray.
