Why does Science keep referring to Makosi as "Maloko"?  Is it some sort of subtle cultural reference / clever joke, or is he just being rude / stupid?

Science is a man of music....so in his head Makosi sounds the same as Maloko...and she had a song called "Sing it back".........I'm prob wrong, but that's why I think Science keeps calling her Maloko.

Er... but that doesn't explain it exactly... do you mean that "Maloko" means something specific?  Is it an actual word?
sorry to be pedantic but its spelt 'moloko'. i dont believe the name means anything but yes it is the name of a UK poppy dance group.

It's the Russian word for 'milk' but, as LiverpoolLou said, I think Science is possibly a fan of the band & hears a similarity with the name. I don't believe that he means any offence by it in fact such nicknames are often used with affection.

Science & Makosi seem to have quite a good relationship. She braids his hair which is a fairly intricate & time consuming activity so I don't think she is offended in any way.

It was also used in A Clockwork Orange to describe a drink of milk.
For while i thought Orla was being called Moloko because they are both from N. ireland.
I wonder what Makosi looks like under that wig?!!
Well I just thought that it was an affectionate nickname based on the spanish word loco which means mad, wacky etc.
