Registering to vote

I've just had Final Reminder to register to vote . Is is illegal for me to ignore this ? As this is what I want to do

in my area if not all the cut off time for response was 15th october

the form particularly requests the information on people living at the address on that date

however as usual i had three forms, the original, a green reminder and a red reminder and two visits (presumably at some cost to the council tax payer) all before the relevant date

i told both the unnecessarily impatient jobsworths that i would comply fully and complete the form on the first day i could give the truthful reply necessary i.e 16th october

which i did and would have done anyway without being pestered

there seems little consistency - you are not allowed to return your national census forms early for very good reason - they want the info 'for that day'

we should be left in peace
