A few people told me Ikea kitchens are perfectly good quality, no need to pay over the odds for other makes, whereas someone else told me they are not sturdy or good quality and are made to last a max. of 8 - 10 years, probably less.  Can anybody tell me anything more please.

Dont know specfically about ikea stuff but most diy furniture is only as strong as you make it my husband built a mfi kitchen and it was still going strong when we sold the house 14 years later so i suppose the answer is put it together carefully even if you have to buy some more glue.

Over the years I have fitted many a kitchen ( its my job). But the best so far is Ikea. They offer the deepest drawers and are very sturdy. So sturdy that I went in on a friday afternoon and ordered one for mine house and it was delivered the very next morning at 8:30!!!! that cuts out the ole 3 to 4 weeks wait with most people. if you dont fancy that then I would get a Wickes one almost as good. never get a Magnet one. Magnets are just really bad now. But remember most kitchen places have very dated styles but ikea has very modern all the way down to modern classic.

P.S if any one says try howdens because their for the trade then remember this, When choosing mine I got a price from howdens and then priced one from Ikea and guess what Ikea saved me money.

Hope that helps you and no I dont work for Ikea!!!! LOL

Good Luck
