Help! I've got an Ikea kitchen (bad idea, I know!). The mixer tap is bust. The cold water tap just turns clunkily, like its worn out all of a sudden. Any help would be gratefully received!

Hi Ribena,

First you must turn off the water to the taps.

Remove the cold water knob. This is normally done by carefully removing the plastic covering on top of the knob. A small sharp pointed blade will do this. There is a screw underneath the covering, when removed the knob can be taken off.

Hopefully you will find that the innards have come adrift and can be screwed together again.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, the inside of the knob is worn. Think I'll have to get a new one! Thanks again.
Hi Ribena,

In that case you can buy replacement knobs. Unscrew knobs as suggested and take them to a plumbers merchant. They should be able to replace them.
