Sqad it's not the same pub that was a general comment about 18ths from a pub owner - there will be a big discussion this evening and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and that'll just be me LOL - I agree about the drugs / drink etc . Party guy lives in the area - we just don't know him - girls tend to get invited to older parties at this age than boys do

Thanks yogi - it is everyone else I don't trust - and she is a good looking girl who knows how to glam herself up.
And there are bound to be 19 year olds there. Not a good scenario. She has been home from school an hour now and hasn't mentioned it at all - she is not a pesterer and it's sometimes harder to say no to that type of kid but we will both be talking with her later
Hi again pericat x

It's so hard when as parents, you have to make a decision as to what's best......seems your daughter is lovely, as she is not pestering you about it.........so just maybe, she feels a little uneasy too, not going with someone she knows that's responsible to look after her.

Could'nt you disguise yourself as a teenager, pericat and go with her?......lol
Bet you scrub up lovely....................that'a a compliment, by the way!

Agree that the best way to approach it, is discuss it with her, so best of luck, sweetheart, and hope you make the right decision.

Have a great weekend

Thanks yogi - you go under the 'what's the best compliment you've received' thread for that. But i'm not quite the teen I used to be. We will do our best to make the right decision. Have a great weekend yourself.
I obviously feel quite differently than some about this. My first real boyfriend when I was just 17 was 21 and I never went out with anyone younger than that. Just didn't particularly like people in my own age group. I would have hated a party with loads of 16 year old boys!!

I know lofty - girls are so much more mature than guys - at 16 my son would never have been invited to an 18th. It really is a subject where there are so many differing opinions. And everybody has been so nice and so helpful with their contributions. She is gone to play badminton now till 8 so later we will have a chat when her dad gets in from work. Fathers and their daughters eh
