Car is making a strange noise (front drivers side wheel)

The noise seems to be coming from the front drivers side wheel, and it happens when I'm driving forward and turning left (but not right). It started off as a squeak which happened on occasion with turning the wheel, but now it is a rubbing/sliding sort of sound (that's probably not the right word but it's the best way I can describe it). Any idea what it is before I take it to a garage? Many thanks!

Most likely one of the above but, I'd be tempted to check the track rod end on that wheel
Or a sticky brake caliper
Hi, check the treads of the tyres for objects ( Bolts, nails stuck in the tread, have you changed the front tyres? if so, are they the right size?
