22 September, 1955, on the first night of commercial television. The ad in question was for Gibbs SR toothpaste, and featured an exotic couple playing with a beach ball to show how fabulously young and healthy and full of fun they were. It was accompanied by the lyrics; 'It's tingling fresh, it's ooh-la-la, it's tingling fresh with Gibbs SR.'
