I have a philps dvd player / recorder that uses dvd +r (and dvd +rw) discs. I am trying to play back videos taken on a digital camera. I wish to know what format i need to to format the disc and also what disc to use (cd +r or cd +rw) thanks...les

you can use either type of disk, the only difference is the +rw is re-writable so you can wipe it and use the disk again, the +r's can only be used once.

this should enable you to create a proper DVD that will play in any DVD player.

1. As far as I know, DVD format is VOB.
2. I'd prefer CD+R, it's more compatible.
3. You may take a look at this guide, it's about how to capture video from DV and Camera to computer or DVD. It works pretty well for me
