It's just that I have never seen or heard anything supernatural, but I think there is far too much evidence to dismiss it, so I am a believer.

Yea....I was just going to say that. She's a plonk and a bloody irritating one at that.

Did they use the same kind of English 350 years ago?

apparently, ummmm, they said "crap".. I'm shocked, really I am. if I ever met a ghost that said "crap" I'd be really surprised!

and they prepared you for life in the 21st century with basic (very basic) typing skills, and how to be rude to people.

how unpleasant.

Can't argue with that. Mine are on the sofa at the moment.

Evidence or imagination?
Hi Mariner,
Some people are more sensitive to the spirit world and various phenomena than others. I'm someone who has always refused to believe in this nonsense about UFOs which must all have logical explanations. The same with the Loch Ness monster, Bigfoot, the Bermuda Triangle. They all have logical explanations.

However, I've been forced against my every instinct to accept the spirit world. My first experience was just after my grandfather died when I was 15. He died in hospital at 5am. That night I went to bed at 11pm and I was reading a book before going to sleep - when my grandfather walked across the room, smiled at me and disappeared! I was scared stiff! I later explained it by saying I must have fallen asleep and dreamed it - but I knew I hadn't as I was wide awake.

My mother died in 1999. For the next three years she visited me about three times a week. I never saw her but I would suddenly feel her presence which was strong and powerful I knew exactly where she was standing or sitting. It could be day or night and she would often stand close behind me and just watch me. I knew she had come just to be with me and after a while I would feel her leave.

I eventually mentioned it to a vicar friend who said it's not uncommon that a spirit won't pass on fully for various reasons. We then went through a common procedure the church has (but keeps quiet) to help spirits pass on fully. When my Mum came next time I went through this and I knew she was standing listening to me. When I told her she could go to her parents I felt her turn and walk away - and she's never been back.

I have had several similar experiences too. It's wrong to dismiss what we don't understand and have no proof of. If so, then we must dismiss hypnosis, ESP etc. I haven't told you this to be ridiculed as I'm sure I will be. But some people are more sensitive to the spirits than others. I've been forced into accepting the
yes i have seen a ghost when i was training to be a butler i saw a ghost who looked like one of the three muskateers and before you ripped me to pieces at that time i had never saw a film in my life so it was not something you could say was a figment of my imagination
I've seen quite a few ghosts, the most visible/detailed ghost being in my old bedroom and I saw her open my curtains and I use to have a go at my mum for opening my curtains so early in the morning when it was the ghost all along! Whenever something spooky like that happens I tend to try and explain it in my head - is it just the light playing tricks on me, is the TV programmed to come on at a certain time etc and most of the time these things can be explained but not all the time.
