It isn't your bones clicking as such, the noise you can hear is the tendons 'snapping' over the joint.........I don't mean snapping as in breaking, but as in an elastic band type thing.Your tendons will eventually become more subtle as you become more fit and agile and will make less noise.
Daffy, you seem to be in the know about 'clicking'......when my back clicks is that also tendons making the noise? And hips clicking - again tendons??

thanks! that makes sense, hopefully it'll go soon!
Backs clicking is slightly different as we don't really have the same sort of tendon passing over a joint in the spine. It could just be the cartilage between the vertebrae.I am definitley NOT an expert on backs and would advise you to see a doctor if you are having trouble with yours.Hips clicking could be tendons as we do have large ones over the hip joints. If however you are getting pain with the clicks you need to see a GP.
I have some very clicky joints, especially in my knees, ankles and hips and have arthritis and a Vitamin D deficiency (think adult rickets) and hypermobility syndrome (I can move more than I should).

I'm only 30 and have had it for a while so might be worth keeping an eye on especially if there is any pain or swelling or other symptoms.

Keep your joints well hydrated, a good EPA supplement can help.

Decent magnesium supplements can be very good and swimming is good for suppleness without hammering the joints.

Make sure you warm up and down properly and maybe work up to exercises more gently at first.
