Equal.
If there is a power struggle involved then the relationship is doomed I'm afraid.
:-(
what do you mean by "in an argument"?

in the relationship things should be equal, unless both agree otherwise. But i wouldnt say anyone has "power" over another
An argument should be about each others opinions. The other partner should accept differing opinions to their own. There shouldn't be any of 'I'm right because I am the man' (or vice versa).
There should be no power of one person over another, and if this is the case then it can be classed as abuse and bullying.
This is not a good situation to be in if the relationship is to succeed.

i agree completly. just a friend who's boyfriend seems to think during an argument, a woman shouldnt argue back in an exxcessive way, should accept the 'mans' point of view.
There shouldn't be power in a relationship, especially an argument. It should be equal, and arguments should never be about one person's power over another.
Equally but then there will always be times when both partners agree and there will always be times when both partners disagree so there are times in every relationship where the man may get his way (and have the power) and times when the woman will get her way (and have the power)
well i'm always right so it doesn't matter :-)
No angel. wrong. there should not be any 'power'
It's not a word to use in a relationship. In a business maybe, but not between two people who are supposed to love each other.

spoil my fun why doncha and i had a really large door handle in mind as well :-(
who is to say that the man's argument is the right argument? always approach a disagreement in a neutral manner, look at the problem objectively before making your point regardless of gender.
does your friend live in the 12th century perhaps?

exactly jno! thats whati always say!!
lol ... Well as serious as the question is, I always follow the Ogden Nash line "whenever you're wrong, admit it; whenever you're right, shut up." The boss lady will find out soon enough when she's wrong, and in the meantime, I get some peace !
