I have recently joined a small committee/group with charity status and was just wondering about the rules regarding meetings. I know that its majority rule when voting on an issue, but if you do not attend a meeting, having given your apologies, have you any comeback if you disagree with a decision made at that meeting. Apologies if this makes no sense, I',m just curious regarding the rules.TIA

Dunno about commitees, but the usual thing with boards of one kind or another is to nominate someone as a proxy, and get them to vote for you.

I really can't see how being absent is an excuse for a vote going the wrong way. Surely if it mattered you'd be there, and if it went wrong then you'd accept it.
Depends on their Constitution - generally if you dont attend you cant have a say.

However you can ask the Chairman to call an extraordinary meeting to overrule any Minutes.

Many thanks for you quick replies folks. I know of one person who sent his apologies to a previous meeting and then kicked up a stink regarding a decision made by the committee which is, as yet, unresolved. I'm not clued up yet on the constitution but will do so now, Thanks again.
