best way to send to jamaica?

hiya we have just returned from jamaica and wish to send some thank you presents to friends out there. cant find many mail order companies out there - can you reccommend any for sending gifts also need to know cheapest companies to ship packages and letters with. many thanks t x

tweeny- I am in US but know that you must find a company w/ extra insurance and door front delivery. I teach many students from Jamaica and they tell me the crime at the docks is awful.

Sorry I can not give specifics, I just know it is very expensive and many packages never arrive.

I agree with EngTeach - I'm a Jamaican living abroad and no longer even try to send presents via mail as nothing ever arrives! Your only bet would be a courier firm such as FedEx, but they are very expensive!

i guessed this would be the case but following the trip we have just had its worth it im more concerned about small postal items not arriving i guess as alot of our friends dont have email

DHL i believe deliver abroad.
You can send international parcels airsure or international signed for. They will cost 3 or 4 quid more than normal airmail, but they are safer, and offer higher levels of compensation aswell. Just ask at your local Post Office
