I would use a steamer - good luck!

A steamer can't get through the gloss paint ;=(
Hi seadart, try using a Perforating tool or wallpaper scratcher so that the water or steam will go through the paper. I only use steamer as last resort as they can be messy and most of the time are not really needed. If you use a perforating tool don't press too hard as it may put lots of little holes in the wall. Put some washing up liquid in warm water you will find it doesn't run off the paper to fast and will help soak into the paper better and it should come off quite easily. Good luck.
http://www.wallwik.co.uk/ I used this on VERY stubborn woodchip but used this scoring tool http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=10604 as i liked it better. Good luck. PS I tried a steamer and didn't get on with it at all.
Scoring and steaming would be my suggestion - if it's an old house sometimes vermin such as bedbugs lurk in old wallpaper, but they and their eggs don't survive a good blast of steam.
