Which is best?

I am looking to buy a MAXVIEW aerial for my truck. Which one works the best, the 'STATUS' type (looks like a frisbee) or the 'WIRE' type one?

the status is directional, so it would get a better signal but would hhave to be pointed in the correct direction every time you've moved your truck otherwise it will be useless.

the "wire" type as you call it is this one I assume?

That is an omni directional antenna, so it will receive a signal from any direction, it will not be as good as the directional (if pointed in correct place) but it will not have to be pointed the correct way every time.

so the directional one is a better antenna as long as it pointed towards the transmitter every time, but the other one is an install and never have to touch it again option.

Thanks for that. I woud think the omni directional antenna will be the one to get then. I've been on eBay looking for one of these for a while, but they are so expensive. The STATUS ones do come out cheaper, but if you have to alter them everytime, then I would assume this is why.
