At the least a half of bottle of wine per person and a couple of pints per head of beer for the other imbibers. It's my guess that you will need the minimum of about two dozen bottles of wine and twice the number for cans of beer.... If the wine drinkers realise that a lot of folk are drinking beer they'll consume more than is customary and the same vice versa attitude will be adopted by the beer drinkers......Ron (hic, hic !)

Ron,
Thanks so much for your help. I, for one, will probably consume a bit more than my share out of nervousness about throwing this bash. Not my thing. I appreciate your help. Cheers!
Go to ASDA - for my brothers 40th they allowed us to buy a whole load of beer and wine and willingly took back and refunded us for any unopened crates/boxes of beer and bottles of wine.
