I'm going to be visiting Phuket on a round the world trip, anyone know of any really beautiful secluded beaches there, really cheap accommodation, and any dodgy areas I should avoid?

No secluded beaches, a lot of really cheap accomadation (less than ten pounds a night for a single room) and define 'dodgy'.  There are still a number of areas affected by the Tsunami, there are the usual tourist traps, and overcrowding
