I stopped 20 years ago and still moody. Don't cough any more though.
I gave up 4 weeks ago. It was much easier than I thought. I don't think you actually get moodier it's just you didn't notice your moods before as any change tends to make smokers light up.

ummmm - did you use patches, and if so are you still using them.
I quit two years ago and craved them constantly for 7 weeks almost to the day. Then suddenly it stopped and I've never really craved them since!!

I know 7 weeks seems a long way off but it soon comes round. Keep going, just think of the extra money you will have!
I have every sympathy for you - cutting out the dreaded weed is the hardest thing I've ever done - that was donkey's years ago and I still craved them for some years afterwards - I don't know where I got the will power from but that's the only way to kick the habit - and it's a damned sight easier said than done!
The best of luck!!
I gave up about 34 years ago. I had reached 40 a day and realised how stupid it was. In addition to the withdrawal symptoms I was also in agony as my lungs became raw as the tar build up gradually broke away. That lasted about a year. For many years I loved standing near another smoker to breathe in the fumes!!
Now I find the smell of smoke loathsome.
All I can say is the craving will last a long time but if you WANT to give up - you will.

No I went cold turkey. I would recommend reading 'how to stop smoking the easy way' by Alan Carr.

I gave it up 9 years ago after my daughter nagging me. I found that chewing just normal gum really helped. I still get that feeling that I could fancy one as I enjoyed smoking but if I ever feel I want one I just think of my children and grandchildren. good luck and stick with it
