Hi Folks

A family member recently purchased a 2001 (Y Reg) BMW, the E46 model ....

It has a button in the centre console which, when pressed either locks or unlocks all the doors ....

I gather this system can be set to lock all the doors when the vehicle moves off and hits something like 5mph and, when the vehicle stops and the driver's door opened from the inside, unlocks all the doors .... to prevent 'car jacking' I believe ...

The car didn't come with a manual .... does anyone know if this can be set up and, if it can, how it's done ?

Thankyou.

Probably works the same as my Renault...........

It is to prevent hi-jacking,

press the button to lock the doors and keep it pressed until you hear a beep or for 10 seconds this should activate the self locking, to turn it off do the opposite.
