My mate has a BMW 330 i sport on a 2001 V plate and has just had his rear brake pads replaced as the warning light was illuminated and they were beginning to make a grinding sound. The garage said his brake discs were ok. Trouble is he's still getting the grinding noise intermittently. The front pads and discs appear to be fine.

Any suggestions what could be causing this?? Cheers.

Hi
if all bmw's have shoes inside the rear discs to work the handbrake, has the garage removed the discs to see if these are in good condition my mates one kept sticking/ locking on if he didn't use the car for a few days.
good luck

if your friends rear brakes aren't like this i apologise.

Hi, thanks for the advice - my mates car was doing the same thing with the sticking/locking on but seems to have been OK for the past few days. The garage told him the discs were OK but would probably need to be replaced in the near future so could well be that. Cheers buddy.
