Anytime I get a bug, it's almost always in System restore - why is this and will deleting the file affect my ability to restore my PC to a former setting. At the moment there are quite a few files which have Heur.Pck.tElock in them. Is this harmful? What are false positives? I get very confused with these security systems - something to do with 'too much information'.

Thanks Ethel, only problem is, when I get to the starting options screen, my up and down keys won't function and I can't get into safe mode. Also, does turning Sys restore off, delete all former restore points and can I do what you suggested in normal mode Many thanks, Liz.
