Wholegrain foods contain all the components of the grain- the bran, germ and endosperm. The grains may be whole, cracked or milled.

Wholemeal : Wholegrains that have been milled to a finer texture rather than leaving the grain intact become wholemeal. Wholemeal contains all the components of the grain, therefore wholemeal foods are also wholegrain

Thanks Susan.
No problem. :-)

It depends if you like your bread smooth or a bit chewy and bitty doesn't it?
So wholegrain is basically granary then Susan?
Granary bread is made from granary flour which is trademarked to Hovis. It is made from malted brown flour, wheatgerm and wholegrains.

very confusing I know.........lol.
Thanks Susan! LOL, how can bread be confusing?!! Don't get started on the 50/50!
I prefer the 50/50 actually. And havn't you noticed how much in price a loaf of bread has gone up recently! It's scandulous!

I have a breadmaker and sometimes do my own, but as it is so delicious it's usually gone in one sitting.........lol.
Absolutely! And don't get me started on the toilet rolls! I think it's outrageous!

Making your own is great, smells great, lovely to eat warm too! Can't leave it alone though! LOL

Must get another breadmaker!
Rinkins, have you tried Tesco value toilet rolls, 1-28 for 12, I don't normally go for Tesco value cr@p but these are good value for money.
Sorry to get off the bread subject!!
Bargain! Thanks for the tip Gelda! :-)

They've just gone down to 1-17!!
Marvellous!
But are they soft???
Question Author
They are soft Funnygirl, they have the same amount of sheets per roll as the expensive ones but just a bit smaller, I've been buying them for over 2 years now and when you think of the price of Andrex etc. I expect I've saved quite a few s.
We started off with bread and ended up with toilet rolls LOL
