i have 2 computers in 2 rooms do I have to use a router or can I use an ether hub ??

most routers these days have multiple connections for ethernet cables. one cable from each computer going to the router will work

to connect 2 computers to one broadband connection you need a router suitable for your broadband (cable or ADSL)
