fine, they should be subjected to rape....by some thing/item that petrudes into them, and hurts them....something akin to a cactus or summing.....
Rov that's emasculation not castration.
It strikes me that a deal has been done in the Czech cases.
The argument appears to be that the deal is steeped largely in the authorities favour, and?
The truth is the offender has got nothing the Czech want or need, whereas they the offer of the chance of freedom.
You wanna get out?
It'll cost your balls.
Ethel's answers are by far the most accurate and it is a much more complicated crime than simply passion (if you will) an old friend of mine was raped many years ago (before I knew him) and he's never been right since, he barely set foot out the door for the best part of 10 years.
The question for us is what's the level of recidivism in the U.K for these offenders as compared to the Czechs, that'll give us an idea of the true extent of the problem and it's solutions.
I would like to see rape reclassified and renamed.

There is a huge difference between the violent predator who forces himself suddenly on a total stranger, causing the victim to be in fear of her life and enduring moments of hell and sheer terror; and the woman who willingly gets undressed and into bed or other compromising situation with their partner, and finds her change of mind 'at the last minute' ignored.
Both of these situations are currently classed as rape. The sentencing may be different and these two examples are at the extremes of rape, with many different 'degrees' in between, but I would like to see a distinction
Quite a few years ago I caught a problem on TV where men who had raped were being questioned about castration, both chemical and surgical.

They all said that for them rape was about the power and if castrated they would use something else.

Not pleasant but true.

So I have mixed views on the subject, in some ways I think yes but then I remember that programme very clearly and think what would be the point.

Then again I think a life sentence should mean life.

One tiny, small point - why would agreement with castration deemed to be 'right wing' Andy?

Surely this transcends any political affiliation?
Ethel is quite right that there is a difference between the two types of sexual assults against a woman's wishes as she laid out.

Would she also agree that since the female victim is not allowed to be named by law, then the accused male should also not be named until he has been found guilty of the charge?

If in the case of false accusations being brought against him, then should not the female then be named and shamed in a court of law?
That's a different thing altogether.

Proving a rape is incredibly difficult - essentially it is one person's word against another (except in violent rape, perhaps).

Naming the accused may bring forward other victims who were too ashamed/embarrassed/scared to go to the police.

Finding the accused 'not guilty' in a court of law does not necessarily mean the alleged victim was lying - it simply means there was lack of evidence to find the perpetrator 'guilty beyond all doubt'.
Its as extreme as cutting off the hands and feet of drunk drivers who kill people by their actions, lets face it, they'd never drive again - would we all sanction that?
Loofty, thank you for coming back, I appreciate that and fully understand your point.

Amazing isnt it Booldawg, (virtually) the same people bemoaning shariah are espousing that capital punishment and castration for the UK would make us more civilised. I remain forever beguiled by the applied ethics of the hoi-polloi.
Different argument, AOG. Why not set up a separate thread on it?

I might do that Quinlad when I have a little more time, because it seems that Ethel is missing the point somewhere.
Give all rapists and paedo's labotomies, thats what I say!!
