My ex husband has caused nothing but grief trying to split me and my new husband up over the last five years. I have two children with my ex and it is so much of long storey from domestic violence. However he uses the children against me all the time. He lies about me saying I am texting him when I am not. Luckily now even on pay as you go you can get a statement of usage. However I get abusive phone calls at work, I get abusive texts and I have been told to go to a solicitor. Will my save texts enable me to get an order on him? Anyone legal minded I would like to hear from before I waste my time. No idiots please as this is serious.

it's harassment, and if you feel threatened that's another offence.

if you don't think he's about to stop, go to the police.

best of luck x
The police take threatening and abusive rte4xtys seriously especially if children are involved but it depends how far you will go
honestly i typed texts then!
i had the same problem with my ex husband who was also violent towards me during our marriage . i had nothing but abuse off him after we spliit so i contacted a solisitor who was able to go to court on my behalf and gert an order on him. You do not need to take this any longer. good luck
I used a dictaphone to record my ex.....I'm sure it can't be used but gave the solicitor an idea of what I was dealing with. I also photocopied the worst of the texts.....
Yes, recording with a dictaphone is actually illegal, as I heard so its better not just show the solicitor the texts that you got.
And diarise incidents.
All the advice given is very good. I had the same with my ex. It is harrassment, report it to the police and seek legal advice. As others have said record every incident, even the times when you say he has told the children lies and such like, as it all counts toward the harassment, Keep any evidence such as texts.
Good luck, hopefully this can be sorted out soon. xx
yes as long as they are not withheld number ..if its from his contract phone you have a better case
harassment order i had to get one on my ex it turns out the texts were so bad he was charged with threats to kill and went to prison for 1 month
