pc not showing memory stick

pc not showing memory stick anywhere. When plugged it in the pc says new hardware found, when i try to load it after a few seconds it says error occurred. ive used 2 different memory sticks with the same result both work on a laptop perfectly they do not show in disk managment either any ideas please
