blue ray is dvd only not a broadcasting system
both are 1080p or my hd-tv which is now 2 years old is 1080i
but not much difference there unless your screen is around 50"
i'm waiting to buy a humax freesat recorder but alas after the release of those last month there all on recall for some glitch as i was informed by currys digital
go to a store like currys etc you'll see the hd pic on most of there display set

Many thanks Alan for reply. What i mean`t is the picture as
good as blu ray on freesat hd thanks.
PS my screen is 32" LG 1080p
yes they will be the same high deff is high deff whether freesat or blue ray
but i would add that with your tv being a 32 which is considered small by todays tv i dont think you benefit from freesat as only a few progs are shown in hd most are still just
standard digital, the smaller the screen the better the picture is, high deff is really needed on 46 to 60 " screens
as i said look at a few display tv in the shops make your mind up then
and dont be pushed by hard selling assistants, they get commission on your sale, ive heard many misleading info given out by these guys
i once asked a salesman how long a rear projector tv bulb would last,100.000 hrs he said? where as and i already knew it was no more than 2 to 3 thousand hours and a cost of up to 300 to replace
