can you use an external dvd player with usb cable to play a dvd on a tele which has a usb socket in. Although my tv has a usb socket which can play photos off a usb pen. Will iI be able to play said usb external dvd player. Its just my tele doesnt have an internal dvd player and I dont want to have a bulky box under my tele.

But surely the DVD player has audio/video outputs? What's the make and model?

thanks CF, good point re the a/v outputs but I havent bought it yet. I was thinking about the wee external dvd drives you buy for laptops.
No they won't work with a TV.

something like this would though as it has an HDMI output.

OK CF had a look but its a bit dear for me, i'll look for something a wee bit cheaper. Thanks for the info re the compatability of the external hard drive.
