I've managed to get back on tinternet though not sure for how long though.

There's a flood coming from the flat two floors up which is now happily flooding out through an electric fan in the kitchen and keeps blowing my electrics and had more or less no power since yesterday morning.

Decided it would be a good time to build my new flat pack filing cabinet and have since decided all flat pack furniture is evil and I shouldn't be such a cheapskate and buy one ready put together next time!

How's everyone else's day?

Hey Jen, this sounds bad. Cannot you report it to somebody??

I know this is not your first post on the subject and maybe I've missed something. But you poor thing!!

I know about flat pack, as there is a unit I want in Ikea and Mr Funny is refusing point blank as he always ends up swearing and throwing his tools around!!
You have had a rotten weekend haven't you? Haven't they sorted that leak yet?

Flat packs are the work of the devil, even when you can understand them there is always something missing/ drilled wrong etc etc etc

It can only get better Jenna, though you may be unlucky and have to wait to get things fixed after the weekend

I've spoken to the people in the two flats above and they're all lovely.

The poor people in the top flat don't have an obvious leak but they had to go without power for a week bless em!

They managed to get a "plumber" out today who just switched their water off then the Landlord turned up and said he would try and get the management company to sort it. So the poor people there have no water, I have dodgy electrics and a leak and the middle flat have damp and a leak.

Am hoping will get to stay on for a bit as the leak is drying up now the water has been switched off but daren't use much stuff. An electrician was meant to be coming over this afternoon but no sign yet, want to get it checked out before I push my luck putting more stuff on.

I have given up on the filing cabinet for now as it was driving me insane so it's now sat in pieces on the living room floor! Lol :)

landlord has an obligation to put you and all the affened people up in a hotel untill the problem is fixed at his/her cost dont let them fob you off.....its true..
Thats landlords cost....

I wish :) i have a cat and hamster though so would probably have to stay anyway as doubt a hotel would let me have them there.

All three flats have separate landlords, mine is lovely but the other two have apparantly just not been helpful. It was the top floor landlord who came over today and we showed him my flat and the flat above me and the damage caused so I think he has finalised realised how bad it is.

He said he will contact man co tomorrow and if they won't sort it then he will so fingers crossed he will honour that. Looks like they are going to have to go through ceilings or floorboards as it seems like a leaking pipe.

thats ok cat and hamster can stay all you have to do is visit them they dont need electric or water like you do,if you are a tenant you have every right thats why the top floor landlord wants to keep you happy and your landlord wont be happy with top floor landlord because of the damage has to be repaired to the flat

Very true.

Luckily I'm off back to Shropshire for a do tomorrow evening so will be able to at least use a hairdryer and have hot food and drinks at my parents' before I come back late on.

So far so good with the electric (famous last words!) but if it carries on I'll take things further with the other tenants to get something sorted.
You go GIRL!!! LOL.
What a state to be in honey . I can empathise with the leak and damp . I do hope it'll be sorted out safely for you . An electrician should have been sent out to do a safety check ...but you know what shouldhave did......
A flat pack ! Heaven ...I love making them up , with some help holding and lifting the heavy stuff .

The electrician has just been and had a look. He took some of the sockets off and water came out which wasn't promising!

He had a bit of a blast of them with the hairdryer and basically just need the sockets to dry out now but thank goodness, at least the electric has stopped tripping for now.

Thank goodness I have two days off work as am so behind in things to do now, not daring to use the washing machine until I'm sure everything has dried out. It seems to have killed the kettle so going to have to sort a new one and get the fan redone, sockets replaced and damp painted over once it's dry.

So nice to have my leccy back though :)
