It's Sky encouraging us to reduce our carbon footprint. It only happens after a certain time at night if you haven't used your remote control for X amount of time. You can change it if you like though, if I remember correctly, the option is in the system setup.
I set the timer on my DVD recorder to record a programme at 2 AM this morning, and all I got was a message that my digibox was about to go ino standby.

As Lakitu says, go into Services and there is an option to cancel it if you wish.

I do turn my digibox off overnight when not recording something, and actually doubt if it uses much leccy anyway.
What was on at 2am that's not call in quizes? LOL
Peep Show with Armstrong and Miller - it's really funny.
Oh that's one of my favourite shows! The series is never long enough though :(
It was on E4

A Sky+ box would get round this problem as you can record to the hard disk in the Sky+ box.

Once you have watched it you can delete it if you dont want it, or copy it to DVD if you DO want to keep it.
Yes but you have to pay for Sky+

I am on Freesat from Sky.

I used to pay, until I realised that almost everything we watched was on the free channels anyway, and Sky hoiked the prices up yet again.

Also all my recording is to play on a portable DVD player, not to watch in the living room.
