Does anyone know why there sre so few High Value prizes in this months (December) Premium Bond List? Is it the usual 'technical' problems?

due to the credit crunch the number of high prizes has been cut
The prize fund is in effect in place of the interest that would otherwise be earned by savers on the bonds money. As interest rates have fallen the prize funds have been cut. To be fair, the prize funds are increased when interest rates rise.

Humph - where'd they put the 30K I invested last month then! Yeah, only having a laugh - I do understand the economics of it:)
