I found a wallet with some money in it at a train station. It didn't have any identification in it except an Oyster card. Is it possible for London Transport to trace a person from the Oyster card and then for London Transport to pass on my number to the owner to contact me. I'm not sure that there is any point in handing in the wallet. Or is there?

I work for London Transport,, and take it from me, don't hand it in to them, take it to the Police Station.

A couple of rarely known things.

First, they will make no effort to trace the owner.

Second,
If the owner contacts them, they charge a percentage of any moneys in the wallet, before the owner can have it back.

Third, if you take it to the Police Staion, you've done the honest thing by handing it in, but after six months, if its not claimed, its yours.
The money, not the oyster card.
Why dont you just keep the money, get yourself a kebab or a bottle of Pepsi or something like that, or if there were lots of money in it, treat yourself to a 16" Hawaiian pizza.
