A - 10pts

B - 8pts

C - 6pts

etc, etc

(for AS levels, divide by 2)

Oh...I thought it was

A = 120

B = 100

C = 80

D = 60

E = 40

And half for AS levels...

iwantthatone's answer seems the most logical, as i saw something about having to have 140 UCAS points to be in the royal navy and i was thinking: "How the hell are you going to get 140 ucas points if you only get 10 for an A at A-Level?"

Cheers!

Sorry, must have changed it since my day. Now my 16 pts doesn't sound so impressive :-)
