I get really bloated when I eat starchy foods like bread, white rice and pasta and potatoes. I had a baked potato with Chilli Con Carne yesterday, only ate half of it and my stomach looked like I was 7 months gone.

okay, weird sense of humour for an answerbank ... if your not gonna help me dont bother wastin my time its quite clear im not in the mood,
You might have an allergy to something you're eating Aimee. Could be the wheat. Binge drinking could also do it, but if things don't improve soon, have a word with your doctor.

okay thankyou so much ice.maiden =] x
Milk and dairy products cause bloating if you are intolerant, so if you are drinking milk or tea etc with it in, could be this.
Liver damage can also cause bloating round the middle, but it's usually above the waistline, and you're a bit young to have that.
I was going to suggest IBS or some kind of intolerance to something like dairy or wheat.

Keep a food diary and see if you can spot any triggers.

Candida is another possibility or maybe water retention. Could even by related to your cycle as many women bloat when due on and during.

What's your diet like? Do you drink a lot of fizzy drinks or have a high sugar content or processed artificial foods like microwave meals? do you drink much water? If so I'd cut down on the fizzy drinks and drink loads of water and cranberry juice.

If you have any pain or other symptoms then get checked out by your GP. I'd recommend going and having a chat with them in the meantime so they have it noted and may be able to help.

Do you have any other symptoms such as pain or wind?

Make sure you are comfortable. I know it can be tempting to try and hide it away but make sure you don't cause yoursel fmore discomfort by trying to hide it.

i am quite healthy and i dont have any fizzy drinks and i have proper home made meals and i also drink plenty of water.... i do get sick on an evenin which i find weird... but thank you so much for your help :D
I have IBS and often am left with quite a bloated tummy as a result of eating certain foods. However I have discovered charcoal tablets, and now i'm not bloated any more!

Not sure how they work but two tablets after my main meal or any other time I feel bloated, works wonders for me!
I used to get similar symtons to you and a friend said to try peppermint tea as it settles& speeds up the digetive system. I also use linseeds in breakfast cereals that help (you don`t need the details) cut out all white bread and only eat low fat foods and snacks . It worked for me and I have lost a stone which is allways a good thing.
