I love Christmas, but trying to organise who we see and not upset anyone is a real nightmare. I like to have just a quiet Christmas day with my husband and children, but not all the family seem to understand this. Does anyone else feel the same and how do you go about it?

I'd just like to say though that just because some of us don't like traipsing round like a vagrant from home to home on Xmas day doesn't mean that we don't appreciate our families or that we don't think of those who spend Christmas alone, which is what seems to be implied by some people! It is a lot to be expected to drive everywhere doing the visits, if nothing else it means the driver can only drink tea on Xmas Eve and Xmas day!
Good for you Nat. You're starting off exactly how we did. People soon got used to the idea of us not being available on Christmas day, as we just wanted to be a little family on our own.

There were still phone calls with relatives & friends wishing each other a happy day, etc. Boxing day was different & that's when we did our visiting.

I bet you'll have a lovey time with your little daughter. She will love all the twinkling Christmas tree lights & wrapping paper.
i asked the same sort of questiona while ago as i have the same problem. my parents are divorced and have there own families now and they all want to see my kids on xmas day so this year we have decided to have everyone at my house. there will be 11 adults and 4 children. s i have a little kitchen we ahve decided to have xmas dinner with a difference thias year and set the big gazebo up in the garden and have xmas dinner in there. all sounds a bit strange but will be something different and plus the children get to see all the nanies and grandads on xmas day.
