just seen a post from someone who will be lonely this christmas. I think it is very sad that some people will be alone, they will think of the times gone by when all their families were around them, the old real happy days. Makes me feel sad to think of this, as i love Christmas with the family all around.
I cannot think of anything I can do to bring a bit of Christmas into their lives, so, any ideas, and even more difficult, how do we find these people? I barely know my neighbours, I only see the ones that put their bins out or drive by in their cars.

it makes me feel very too , as I was a carer for 2 yrs a few years ago, and I've seen some very lonely people that waits for your knock on their door. wish I had a lonely old person nearby as I'd love to be able to pop in for an hour to lift their spirits up a bit!
*makes me feel very sad too*

I am lucky enough to have a son and a daughter, both of whom invite me to their homes for Christmas/Boxing Day, otherwise I would be alone. I must admit I used to enjoy Christmas when my children were small, my husband and my mother still alive and my sister still living near me, but time has passed and I am left here. However, I am much luckier than some old people who as you say wait for someone to knock just to see another human being.
I feel very sad for people who have no-one to share Christmas with.
